Volatile Organic Compounds

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are organic compounds that evaporate and quickly enter the atmosphere. VOCs have a wide range of human and environmental health impacts and are linked to asthma, respiratory issues, and cancer. VOCs are found in everyday activities like using paints, cleaning products, and aerosols. The regulation and reduction of VOCs helps to create healthier skies and healthier environments for people. VOCs are also used in industry for processes such as degreasing and for making adhesives and solvents. Through proper management, we can limit potential impacts and improve air quality.
