Gastritis
Gastritis is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It is a common condition and is most often caused by bacterial or viral infections, long-term use of certain medications, or excessive alcohol consumption. The hallmark symptoms of gastritis are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and overall discomfort in the upper abdomen. In some cases, gastritis can cause bleeding or ulcers in the stomach lining. Treatment for gastritis depends on its cause and severity, and may involve dietary changes, medications, or surgery. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to preventing more serious complications, such as anaemia and ulceration.
