Inflammation

Inflammation is a response of the body's immune system that is provoked by injury or invasion by a foreign organism. It's characterized by redness, warmth, swelling, and pain around the affected area. Inflammation is important because it helps the body fight off infection, heal injuries, and protect against further damage. It also plays a role in the development of certain diseases such as asthma and cancer. Its uses include the diagnosis of certain diseases, and to support the healing of wounds and infections.
