Pelvis

The pelvis is a ring-shaped structure located in the lower part of the human body. It is made up of four bones, the sacrum and coccyx (tailbone) in the back, and the two hip bones in the front. It serves several important functions in the body: it supports the spine, forms the pelvic cavity which houses the reproductive organs, offers a base for muscle attachment, and helps to distribute the body’s weight when a person stands. The shape and size of the pelvis can vary between individuals, but it plays a key role in allowing us to walk upright. In addition, its wide range of motion makes it essential for activities such as running and jumping.
