Cell Fusion
Cell fusion is the process by which two or more cells join together to form a single new cell. It is a critical process in many biological contexts, including the formation of multicellular organisms, the differentiation and growth of tissue, the immune response, and the development of tumors. Cell fusion is also important for biotechnological processes such as transfection and recombinant protein production. It has significant implications for the development of regenerative medicine, including the reprogramming of cells and therapeutic cloning.
