Yac Cloning

Yac cloning is a molecular biology technique used to introduce large pieces of DNA into cells. It has become a powerful tool for genetic engineering, genetic mapping, and sequencing. Yac stands for Yeast Artificial Chromosome and is one of the few cloning systems that can accommodate large DNA fragments (100 kb - 1 Mb) which is important for studying large gene regions.
