Cell Division
Cell division is the process by which a single cell divides into two or more daughter cells. This is essential for growth and development in both single-celled and multicellular organisms. Through cell division, living organisms are able to reproduce, repair tissue, and replace worn-out or damaged cells. Cell division is an important process in many biological cycles, such as the cell cycle, which regulates the growth, development, and reproduction of cells, and the mitotic cycle, which governs how cells divide and how much they divide. Without cell division, living organisms would not be able to survive.
