Embryo Cryopreservation
Embryo cryopreservation is an important reproductive technology which enables the preservation of human embryos through freezing at low temperatures. This technique has become increasingly important due to its use in preserving fertility of individuals undergoing cancer treatment or those with endometriosis. The process of cryopreservation also assists with fertilization treatments such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), in which embryos that were not otherwise viable can be stored for future use. Moreover, cryopreservation has also been shown to increase IVF pregnancy rates, as frozen embryos are more likely to survive the thawing process. Embryo cryopreservation is thus a valuable tool for couples and individuals seeking to preserve their fertility for life.
