Embryo Sac
The embryo sac is a specialized cell in angiosperms (flowering plants) that is responsible for the formation, nutrition, and protection of the developing embryo. It is made up of three cell types: an egg cell, two synergid cells and three antipodal cells. The embryo sac is essential for plant reproduction, as it provides the nutrition necessary for the developing embryo, and protects it until it is ready to be dispersed and germinate. In crop production, it is vital for understanding and improving the yield of plants.
