Gastrulation
Gastrulation is a process in embryological development in which the cells of a single-layered embryo reorganize themselves into a multi-layered embryo, forming the basic body plan of the future organism. It is a crucial step in the development of all animals with a backbone, and its significance lies in the formation of the three germ layers that give rise to specific tissues in the body: the ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm. The process of gastrulation is essential for generating diversity among species, as the development of each organ depends on the particular fate of the three germ layers. It is also complex, and its study can help us better understand how organisms develop and how external factors affect key cellular processes.
