Immunohistochemistry
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a laboratory technique used to detect the presence of specific proteins in tissue samples. It uses antibodies to bind to specific proteins, allowing them to be visualized or measured. This technique is particularly useful for diagnosing diseases, as it can detect proteins associated with certain diseases. It also plays an important role in cancer research, as it can be used to identify different types of tumor cells and measure the activity of certain proteins in them. Additionally, IHC can be used to assess the effectiveness of certain treatments, such as radiation or chemotherapy.
