Inflammation

Inflammation is the body's natural response to injury or infection. It is an essential part of the immune system's response to protect the body from further harm. Symptoms of inflammation include redness, swelling, pain, and heat. Inflammation can cause short-term or long-term health problems, and intensity and duration of inflammation can determine its effects on the body. For example, short-term inflammation is beneficial in helping the body heal and fight off infection, while chronic inflammation can lead to a variety of illnesses and diseases. Treatments for inflammation can include lifestyle changes, medications, or physical therapy. Understanding inflammation and its effects is important for managing and preventing health problems.
