Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is an assisted reproductive technology (ART) used to address infertility issues in couples. It is a form of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) where a single sperm is directly injected into the center (cytoplasm) of an egg. This procedure has been a successful method for treating male infertility, and can often result in the conception of a healthy baby. It provides hope and opportunities to thousands of couples with infertility who may not have had any other options. Additionally, ICSI has greatly reduced the risk of genetic disorders caused by abnormal fertilization, allowing parents to be more aware of potential genetic and chromosomal abnormalities.
