Organogenesis
Organogenesis is the process of tissue formation, from an undifferentiated embryo to an organized and functioning organ. During this process, cells multiply, divide, differentiate, and interact with each other to form complex structures. Organogenesis is essential for mammalian life and also plays an important role in tissue regeneration, organ transplantation, and tissue engineering. A better understanding of organogenesis is needed to improve existing health therapies, as well as to develop novel strategies for organ repair and regeneration.
