Actinomyces

Actinomyces is a genus of bacteria that are commonly found in soil and in the human body. They have a high tolerance for low-nutrient environments, making them ideal for bio-remediation and for use in bioreactors or bioprocessing applications. Actinomyces can produce a wide range of enzymes, antibiotics, and other useful compounds, making them very useful for industrial and pharmaceutical applications. In addition, they are known to be important in the human microbiome and are associated with numerous diseases, including tetanus and actinomycosis.
