Chitin

Chitin is a natural polysaccharide found in the cell walls of fungi, exoskeletons of crustaceans, insects, and arthropods. It is an important structural component of the natural world and plays an important role in many biochemical processes. It is also used as a food source by some animals and has a wide range of commercial uses, such as in the production of paper, plastics, glues, pharmaceuticals, and in medical devices. Chitin has many unique properties that make it ideal for a variety of applications, such as its ability to bind to proteins, its resistance to degradation, and its high absorbency. This makes it a valuable industrial material with a wide range of applications.
