Hemophilia

Hemophilia is a rare, inherited blood disorder in which the body is missing a factor needed for blood clotting, making it difficult for the body to stop bleeding from minor cuts and scrapes. People with hemophilia experience prolonged bleeding and the potential for internal bleeding in the joints and muscles. Though there is no cure for hemophilia, treatment is available to help manage the condition. Treatment includes medicines to supplement the missing clotting factor and correct the defect as well as physical therapy and lifestyle modifications to reduce risk of injury.
