Myoblasts
Myoblasts are primitive, immature cells that are the precursors to skeletal muscle cells. They are responsible for muscle regeneration, growth, and repair. They play a key role in the healing process of injured muscles and as such, have potential therapeutic applications for musculoskeletal disorders. Myoblasts are also used in research to study muscle biology and to explore the potential of stem cell based treatments. This knowledge can be used to create better treatments for muscle-related diseases and to repair damage due to muscle injury or degeneration.

Stem cells have the remarkable potential to develop into many different cell types in the body during early life and growth. They serve as a sort of internal repair system, dividing essentially without limit to replenish other cells as long as the person or animal is still alive. It can divide and become another type of cell such as a muscle cell.
