Yellow Bone Marrow
Yellow bone marrow is a type of tissue found in the cavities of long bones in the body. It is composed of large numbers of fat cells, which act as a store of energy and reserves of essential nutrients. Yellow bone marrow plays an important role in the body, serving as a provider of red and white blood cells, aiding in the recovery of injured tissues and contributing to the body's immune system. It is also responsible for the production of bone and cartilage, two essential components of the skeletal system. In medical practice, yellow bone marrow may be harvested during certain procedures in order to aid in the treatment of certain diseases, such as leukemia, aplastic anemia, and certain types of cancer.
