Aerosols
Aerosols are particles and droplets suspended in the air that are a by-product of various natural and man-made sources. These aerosols have an important role in the earth’s climate system, because they scatter and absorb sunlight, affect cloud formation and precipitation, and can transport heat and moisture across the globe. In addition, aerosols are linked to human health impacts such as increased morbidity and mortality from air pollution. They are also increasingly being used in various industrial, medical, and agricultural applications, including providing cooling and disinfection, dispersion of materials, and transportation of drugs.
