Applied Toxicology
Applied Toxicology is the study of toxic and hazardous substances and their effects on human health and the environment. It seeks to define the risks posed by chemical, physical and biological agents, and to develop strategies for their safe management. Applied toxicology is used to inform the development and evaluation of policies, regulations and standards to protect public health and the environment. It is also an important field in toxicological research and risk assessment, with implications for the development of new or improved products and processes. The goal of applied toxicology is to reduce exposure to hazardous materials and to mitigate potential toxic effects.
