Drug Overdose
Drug Overdose is an acute medical emergency that occurs when a person has taken too much of one or more drugs. It is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition that can lead to coma, organ/brain damage, and even death. Overdoses can happen when too much of a drug is taken at once, when it is taken more often than recommended, or when drugs are combined with alcohol or other substances. Medical attention should be sought immediately to minimize the risk of permanent harm and death. Treatment for drug overdosing may include the administration of antidotes, supportive care, and detoxification. Education and awareness are the key to preventing overdoses from occurring.
