Amphotericin

B Amphotericin B is an antifungal antibiotic that is naturally produced by fungi. It is used to treat serious fungal infections, such as Candidiasis, Aspergillosis, and Cryptococcosis. It works by binding to the cell membranes of the fungi, resulting in increased permeability and subsequent cell death. Its broad spectrum of activity against a range of fungal species makes it an essential component of antifungal therapy. Its toxicity, however, limits its use, and other antifungal medications are preferred for milder cases.
