Biodegradation

Biodegradation is the natural process through which organic materials are broken down into smaller components. This process is powered by the enzymes of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms. Biodegradation is hugely significant because it helps reduce the amount of pollutants and waste materials in the environment, and is an important part of any sustainable waste management system. It is also used in a variety of industries, including the food and pharmaceutical industry, due to its ability to degrade organic materials safely and efficiently. Ultimately, biodegradation is an important natural process in managing waste materials, and is fundamental for sustainable development.
