Aneuploidy

Aneuploidy is a condition in which a cell contains an abnormal number of chromosomes. It is caused by errors in the process of cell division, leading to an abnormal number of chromosomes in the cells of the affected individual. Aneuploidy is most commonly seen in individuals with Down Syndrome, Turner Syndrome, and certain types of leukemia. It can also be caused by environmental factors such as exposure to radiation, drugs, or chemicals. In addition to medical implications, aneuploidy can be used for genetic research, for understanding mutations, and for the development of therapeutic treatments.
