Cat Assay
A Cat Assay is a laboratory test used to detect substances associated with pneumonia and other respiratory illnesses in cats. The test uses a sample of the cat's saliva, which is then tested for the presence of antibodies to the feline calicivirus, feline herpesvirus, mycoplasma felis, and chlamydophila felis. The presence of any of these antibodies indicates that the cat has been exposed to, and may be ill from, one of the bacteria or viruses in question. The Cat Assay is a simple, rapid, and cost-effective way to detect respiratory illnesses in cats, allowing for timely treatment and management of the condition.
