Cloning Vector

A cloning vector is a molecular tool used to insert foreign DNA into a host cell so that the hosts cell can replicate it. This process is known as cloning. Cloning vectors are commonly used in biotechnology and genetic engineering in order to create large amounts of identical copies of a particular gene, DNA sequence, or other piece of genetic material. This is important for research into genetics and the development of new therapeutic treatments. Cloning vectors are also widely used in the production of recombinant proteins and transgenic animals.
