Complementary Dna
Complementary DNA (cDNA) is a single-stranded DNA molecule which is synthesized from mRNA and then used in various laboratory applications. It is significant as it can be used to clone or express certain pieces of genes. This is useful for scientists to study the function and structure of particular proteins, which is important for understanding the genetic basis of diseases, and for the development of pharmaceuticals. cDNA is also used in genetic studies and for analysing gene expression.
