Congenital Disorders
Congenital disorders are medical conditions that are present from birth. They are caused by genetic or environmental factors, and can range from mild to severe. They can involve any body system or even multiple systems, leading to physical, mental, and/or behavioral health problems. Early diagnosis and the right intervention can help prevent further health problems, so it is important to seek care if you or your child is showing signs of a congenital disorder. Congenital disorders are often lifelong conditions that require ongoing management, as well as psychosocial and family support.
