Cosmid
Cosmid is a type of DNA molecule found in most bacteria, archaea, and eukaryotes. It is an essential component of bacterial and archaeal genomes, performing functions such as replication and gene expression. Cosmid has also been used as a vector for gene cloning and cloning of large DNA fragments. Due to its superior efficiency and stability, it is widely used as a tool in genetic engineering, gene therapy, and genome sequencing. Its ability to carry large DNA fragments also makes it ideal for studying DNA rearrangements and gene expressions in genomic regions.
