Endocytosis
Endocytosis is the process by which cells take in molecules and particles from the outside environment. It is an essential process in the body, allowing cells to absorb nutrients, hormones, and other molecules. Endocytosis can also be used by pathogens to invade cells. Endocytosis is a major way in which cells communicate with each other, taking in signals from the external environment and responding to them. It also plays a role in the immune system by allowing white blood cells to engulf and destroy invading pathogens. Endocytosis is vital to normal cell function, and its absence can lead to serious illnesses.
