Fungal Genetics
Fungal genetics is the study of the principles of heredity and variation in fungal species. It is an important field of study as it provides insight into how fungi can adapt to their environment and how they can be exploited for a variety of uses. Fungal genetics has been used to develop more efficient methods for crop protection, fermentation, detoxification and bioremediation. In addition, it has also provided insight into evolutionary processes, which has implications for human health and agricultural practices.
