Genetic Mapping
Genetic mapping is a method used in genetics research to trace the location of genes on a chromosome, and in doing so, determine the inheritance pattern of a particular trait. This technique enables researchers to observe the associations between genes and their functions in organisms. Genetic mapping is used to study the structure of a gene, its regulation, and its role in various diseases, as well as to develop genetically-modified organisms. It is also a powerful tool in molecular diagnostics, as it can be used to identify genetic mutations that may lead to inherited diseases or traits.
