Genetic Predisposition
Genetic predisposition is the likelihood of a person to develop a certain condition due to their genetic makeup. It is an important concept in modern medicine, as it allows doctors and researchers to understand why some people are more likely to develop particular diseases. Genetic predisposition is used to identify individuals at increased risk for certain conditions, as well as identify treatments that may be most effective for a particular patient. Genetic predisposition is also used in family planning, allowing couples to understand their risk of passing on any potential genetic diseases to their future children.
