Genetics and Genomics Epigenetics
Epigenetics is the study of changes in gene activity caused by modifications in the structure of DNA without altering the sequence. It has become a very important field of study in the last decade, as it is considered to be a major factor in the development of many diseases. It is also used to better understand the development of organisms, and to study the effects of environmental factors on gene expression. Epigenetic research can provide insight into the mechanisms that control the expression of genes, and can lead to the development of new treatments and therapies for diseases that are caused or influenced by epigenetic changes. It can also be used to better understand how changes in the environment can cause epigenetic changes in humans and other organisms, helping us to better understand our health and the health of other species.
