Ligation-Mediated Polymerase Chain Reaction
Ligation-Mediated Polymerase Chain Reaction (LM-PCR) is a technique used to amplify and analyze target sequences, such as specific DNA or RNA molecules. LM-PCR is highly efficient and significantly improves the sensitivity of PCR assays compared to conventional PCR. It is commonly used in molecular biology and genetics applications, such as gene expression, single nucleotide polymorphism analysis, and quantitative analysis of gene deletions. LM-PCR is also used for the detection and quantification of gene copy number variations, mutation detection, and for sequencing of agents such as viruses. As a result, LM-PCR is a powerful and reliable tool for many biological and medical research applications.
