Molecular Genetics
Molecular genetics is a field of biology that studies the structure and function of genes at the molecular level. It focuses on how genetic information is encoded in DNA, how it is expressed, and how it is regulated by the environment. It has become a powerful tool for understanding genetic disorders, genetic physiology and molecular evolution. Molecular genetics is also being used in the development of new therapies and treatments, as well as in the diagnosis of diseases such as cancer and cystic fibrosis. By studying the molecular basis of hereditary diseases, molecular geneticists are helping to devise new treatments and find cures.
