Mutagenesis

Mutagenesis is an important tool used in genetic engineering and biotechnology. It involves changing the DNA sequence of an organism in order to understand the role of individual genes and to make useful modifications. Mutagenesis can be used to evaluate gene function, modify plant or animal characteristics, and develop novel products or treatments for diseases. In addition, it can be a powerful tool for biotechnological advances or medical treatments. Mutagenesis offers potential for a wide range of applications including drug development, gene therapy, crop improvement, bioremediation and environmental monitoring.
