Paleogenetics
Paleogenetics is a field of genetic research that focuses on the analysis of ancient DNA. By studying ancient DNA, researchers gain insight into the evolutionary history of an organism, which provides knowledge of its adaptations, migrations, and population dynamics. Paleogenetics is also used to investigate the relationships between living and extinct species, and to assess the potential effects of environmental change on population genetic structure. In addition, paleogenetics can be used to uncover the presence and effects of pathogens in the past and to infer the history of past diseases. Paleogenetics is a valuable tool for understanding the evolution of populations, their diseases, and the interplay between humans and their environment.
