Monomers

Monomers are small organic molecules that are linked together to form larger molecules known as polymers. They play a central role in the formation and functioning of a vast array of biological structures, from tiny proteins and DNA to complex carbohydrates. Monomers can be found in a variety of natural and synthetic materials, including plastics, fibers, and rubbers. They are important in industrial processes such as polymerization, where they are used to manufacture a variety of products, including fabrics, adhesives, and paints. Monomers are also used in pharmaceutical and green energy applications. Their versatility and ability to be recombined in new ways make them essential components of many modern products.
