Abdominal Hysterectomy

Abdominal hysterectomy is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of a woman's uterus through an abdominal incision. This procedure is usually done for medical reasons such as uterine fibroids, uterine prolapse, endometriosis, or if cancer is present. The surgery can be done open (traditional) or laparoscopically (minimally invasive). Abdominal hysterectomy is major surgery and has potential risks, but it is a safe and effective way to treat certain medical conditions and improve a woman's quality of life.
