Appendicitis
Appendicitis is a medical condition that occurs when the appendix becomes inflamed and infected, leading to abdominal pain and discomfort. If left untreated, it can lead to serious complications, such as a ruptured appendix, and can even be life-threatening. Its diagnosis is made through physical examination, medical history, and imaging tests like an abdominal CT scan or ultrasonography. Treatment for appendicitis is typically surgical, and the inflamed appendix is removed in a procedure called an appendectomy. Prompt diagnosis and treatment are important for managing appendicitis and preventing any further complications.
