Gastroparesis

Gastroparesis is a disorder in which the muscles of the stomach do not work properly, resulting in delayed emptying of food and stomach contents into the small intestine. This can lead to a variety of symptoms, including abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and bloating. Gastroparesis can have a significant impact on quality of life and has been associated with decreased appetite, weight loss, malnutrition, and dehydration. Treatment may include dietary changes, medications, and supplements, as well as lifestyle modifications. Gastroparesis can be difficult to both diagnose and manage, but proper treatment can improve symptoms, preventing long-term health complications.
