Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a chronic, functional gastrointestinal disorder that affects a person’s quality of life. Symptoms include abdominal pain, bloating, cramping, and changes in bowel habits. IBS is not an inflammatory disease and does not lead to more serious medical conditions. Treatment for IBS is focused on symptom relief that can include dietary modifications, medications, stress management, and other lifestyle changes. When managed appropriately, IBS can be a manageable condition that allows people to lead healthy, productive lives.
