Rectum
The rectum is the lower part of the large intestine, located just above the anus. This part of the intestine serves as a reservoir for solid waste, known as feces. The rectum is important for the elimination of waste and toxins from the body, and is a key component of the digestive system. Rectal health can have a significant impact on overall health and quality of life, and rectal diseases and disorders can be caused by a variety of factors, such as infection, diet, physical trauma, and medication. Treatment of rectal problems typically involves dietary and lifestyle changes, medical interventions, and in some cases, surgery.
