Chronic Pain
Chronic pain is a long-term pain that lasts longer than the healing process of an injury. It may be caused by a variety of conditions, including disease or injury. Chronic pain can be disabling, impacting quality of life and leading to depression and anxiety. Treatment options for chronic pain may include physical therapy, medications, nerve blocks, and surgery. Management of chronic pain is an important component of overall patient care, as it is key to improving quality of life and reducing the psychological, social, and financial burden of pain.
