Alanine

Alanine (abbreviated as Ala or A) is an essential amino acid found in proteins and is one of the 20 most common naturally-occurring amino acids. It is involved in many metabolic processes and is important for preserving muscle structure and functioning. It helps regulate blood sugar levels, assists in wound healing and serves as an energy source in the body. Alanine is found naturally in foods such as meat, dairy, eggs, grains and legumes, as well as some fruits and vegetables. Supplementing with alanine can help boost exercise performance, improve cognitive function, and reduce fatigue. It has been used for medical treatments such as increasing energy and reducing muscle pain. Additionally, Alanine may help strengthen the immune system by influencing the production of antibodies and other immune cells. Overall, alanine is an important nutrient for energy production, maintaining muscle health and strength, improving cognitive performance, and boosting immunity.
