Amino Acid Analogues
Amino acid analogues are modified versions of naturally occurring amino acids which have been adapted to have similar biological functionality as the originals but with certain enhanced characteristics, such as increased stability and resistance to enzymes. These analogues are particularly useful in drug discovery, as they can help improve the efficacy of medications by providing better levels of absorption, distribution, and elimination. Furthermore, they can be used in protein engineering and modification, providing more specific and targeted therapeutic applications. Amino acid analogues are therefore of great importance for the development of new treatments and the improvement of existing drug therapies.
