Amino Acids, Cyclic

Amino Acids are compounds composed of an amino group, a carboxyl group, and a side chain that usually varies between different amino acids. They are the building blocks that form polypeptides, which in turn form proteins. Amino Acids play an important role in many processes in living organisms, including metabolic pathways, gene expression, hormonal regulation, and development. Cyclic Amino Acids are a type of amino acid where the side chain is cyclic, forming a ring-like structure. They occur naturally in plants, where they are important for plant growth and development. Cyclic Amino Acids also display antimicrobial activity and have potential applications in cancer therapies and drug development.
