Beta-alanine

Beta-alanine is an amino acid, naturally produced in the body, that is increasingly being used as a supplement to enhance athletic performance. Its main function is to increase the body's stores of carnosine, a chemical that helps buffer the buildup of lactic acid which can lead to fatigue, reducing the amount of time spent in anaerobic exercise. Evidence shows that supplementing with beta-alanine may help improve muscular endurance and reduce fatigue during a wide range of physical activities, including cycling, running, weightlifting and rowing. Beta-alanine may also help support muscle growth and enhance strength, making it an effective tool for those looking to gain an edge in their athletic performance.
